Patrick Ash
Patrick Ash is a seasoned endurance, nutrition, and exercise therapy coach with over 20 years of experience helping athletes build strength, confidence, and long-term health through purposeful training. With a background in Psychology and Physical Activity Studies from the University of Regina, Patrick has dedicated his career to understanding how the body and mind work together to support performance—both in sport and in life.
Patrick is the founder of Endurance Journey Coaching, created to help athletes of all levels train with intention, sustainability, and clarity. His expertise spans running, triathlon, nutrition coaching, and movement therapy, and his approach is grounded in real-world experience—coaching thousands of athletes and personally competing in 100+ endurance events, including triathlon world championships.
More than a coach, Patrick is a mentor and guide who believes training should enhance your life, not overwhelm it. His coaching philosophy is built on three core principles: Show Up, Own the Moment, and We GET TO Do This. These values shape every plan he creates—encouraging athletes to approach training with purpose, gratitude, and resilience.
Patrick holds an extensive list of professional credentials, including Precision Nutrition Level 2 Master Health Coach, NBC-HWC Health and Wellness Coach, Certified Exercise Physiologist (High Performance), Foundation Training Level 1 Instructor, and Triathlon Canada (Trained), Endurance Sports Coaching Institute Certified Coach, among others. His commitment to continuous learning ensures athletes receive evidence-based, holistic coaching that supports physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Jennifer Ruland
Jennifer Ruland is a highly experienced Exercise Physiologist and Long-Distance Running Coach with over 20 years of experience supporting athletes and individuals through exercise therapy, endurance training, and long-term health development. With an academic foundation from the University of Regina, Jen has built her career around using movement as a powerful tool for improving health, performance, and quality of life at every stage.
Jen’s professional background spans cardiac rehabilitation, chronic disease management, orthopedic injury recovery, and endurance coaching, giving her a uniquely well-rounded perspective on athletic development. She works with a wide range of athletes—from first-time 5 km runners to multi-day ultramarathoners—helping each individual train safely, confidently, and sustainably.
As a hybrid road and trail ultramarathon runner, Jen brings firsthand experience to her coaching, understanding both the physical and mental demands of long-distance endurance. Her coaching approach is holistic and evidence-based, blending scientific precision with empathy, patience, and a deep respect for the athlete’s journey.
At the core of Jen’s coaching philosophy is a belief that movement is a lifelong pursuit. She focuses on building resilience, fostering a positive relationship with training, and creating habits that support longevity in sport and life. Her goal is not just performance improvement, but helping athletes continue doing what they love—strong, healthy, and injury-resilient—for years to come.
Jen holds an extensive list of professional credentials, including Certified Exercise Physiologist, ACSM Exercise Physiologist, Cancer Exercise Specialist, and NCCP Certified Sport Coach, along with training in Functional Movement Systems (FMS) and Keiser Cycling. Her own athletic accomplishments—including competing at a national level in 24-hour ultramarathon events—reflect the endurance, consistency, and resilience she brings to every coaching relationship.
